My brilliant husband

Jared took the TEAS test Thursday. It's a general knowledge test that is part of the application process for nursing school. The national mean for the test is 74%. Jared, however...

91% Yeah. That's higher than 98% of the people who take the test. He rocks, and we are so proud of him!

I birthed a nerd

I know, you're all shocked. Katie won't sit through more than a few minutes of Sesame Street. She will, however, sit and watch 30 minutes of the BBC series The Life of Mammals with David Attenborough. We watched a kangaroo give birth, and a platypus feed her baby. We learned why koalas sleep so much (there isn't much nutritional value in eucalyptus leaves, so they eat and then conserve energy).

I think Katie's favorite was the numbat. They have very long tongues that they have to keep coated with saliva. So they have to stick their tongues in and out. Katie liked imitating them.

We only made it up through marsupials, obviously.

And seriously, isn't David Attenborough the greatest? What a cool job...

Happy Valentine's Day!

Katie had a very special Valentine's Day present!

Kamiakin Scarlet and Gold choir members were selling Val-O-Grams. When I found out they were singing Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours" I had to talk them into coming to sing for Katie. She loves loves loves that song, almost more than the Wiggles. (The kids wouldn't sing Toot Toot Chugga Chugga. I checked.) She was a little overwhelmed, but so happy that people were singing...to HER! I'm pretty sure she's going to expect a concert from everyone who comes over now.

Thanks Fallon, Dale, and boys! You sound awesome, and we really appreciate you indulging a mama's whims!
